Breast Augmentation

Breast lift surgery with implants

Candidates for breast implants with lift cosmetic surgery should evaluate the potential benefits and limitations of the combined procedure before making a final choice. A responsible surgeon will address all questions and concerns of patients in this regard to help them make an informed decision.

Envy Aesthetic Center, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Marco Gonzalez, provides breast lift with implants surgery to patients in El Paso, TX, and surrounding communities.

Combined Surgery – Pros

When breast augmentation with lift cosmetic is performed together, it is essentially one surgery instead of two. In comparison to two separate surgeries being performed at separate intervals, a single combined breast procedure will have inherent advantages for you, provided you are a candidate for the combined surgery.

Risk Exposure Occurs Only Once

Any surgery will have certain risks involved, such as the risk of infection, excessive bleeding, hematoma, or other medical complications. When you go through breast implants with lift plastic surgery as a unified procedure, you will face these natural risks only once.

Similarly, general anesthesia also involves its own risk of any adverse reaction. Major plastic surgery procedures are usually performed with the patient under general anesthesia. Your risk as well as discomfort associated with general anesthesia will occur just once when you choose a combined breast lift with augmentation.

One-Time Preparation and Recovery Process

You will have to go through the pre-op preparation process only once in a combined procedure. The post-operative recovery in case of breast implants with lift is quite similar to that of a standalone breast implants or breast lift surgery. So, your post-surgical downtime and discomfort will also occur just once.

More Conservative and Effective Results

When your surgeon has the flexibility to perform both breast implants and lift as a single procedure, they can plan the procedure well. The surgeon will create common incisions that can be used to create optimal results in a less invasive way.

They will be able to correlate the size of the implants with the amount of excess breast skin to be removed to ensure the most effective results are produced in accordance with your aesthetic goals and your breast anatomy.

In a combined surgery, you will incur costs such as the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia costs, surgery room expenses, costs of medical tests, prescription drugs and surgical bra only once. On the other hand, if both breast implants and breast lift are performed as separate surgeries, all these cost components will occur twice.

Combined Surgery – Cons

  • Even though the combined procedure allows for a more conservative incision and breast skin removal approach, the overall surgery will be more invasive compared to a single procedure.
  • Cost-effectiveness of a combined breast lift with implants is better, but you may have to pay higher upfront costs for this procedure compared to an individual breast lift or breast augmentation surgery.
  • The inherent risks of implant failure due to capsular contracture or other reasons remain unchanged even when you undergo a combined breast lift with implants surgery.
